Friday 31st July saw Pocklington Dolphins hold their monthly `Time Trial’ event, these are held every last Friday night of the month and it gives the coaches and swimmers alike the opportunity to see if they have improved since their last time trial night, and also an opportunity to have a go at gaining PB’s and possibly breaking some current club record.

The two events that were swum were 60m Frontcrawl and the 4 x 20m Individual Medley for the 11 and under age group, and 100m Frontcrawl and 4 x 40m Individual Medley for the 12 and over age group.  Even though the summer holidays are in full swing the attendance was very encouraging.

Throughout the night there were a total of 4 club records broken and over a 90% success rate gaining PB times in both events in both age groups.

Joseph Pickering broke the Boys 8 & Under 60m Frontcrawl club record swimming a time of 58.16, breaking Marcus Walker’s 5 year old club record (58.26).

Both Hannah Stanton and Helena Walker broke the Girls 14 & 15 years 100m Frontcrawl 11 year old club record (1.07.42) held by Miriam Beales, swimming times of 1.06.58 and 1.06.18 respectively, Helena taking the record, swimming the faster time.  Helena also broke an impressive 22 year  old club record held by Anna Layton in the 4 x 40m Individual Medley, swimming a time of 2:08.35, surpassing the previous time of 2:09.63.

Not to be out done by her sister, Katrina Stanton had a successful night as well, breaking the Girls Open age 4 x 40m Individual Medley 12 year old club record (2:09.12) in a time of 2:08.41.

All in all a very successful night of swimming as a lot of Personnel Best’s (PB’s) were also swum by all swimmers, very encouraging for Head Coach Alan Kendra.
